Although both had fulfilling careers, they were busy and at times very stressed, which lead them to seek an alternative life.
After some research and discussion, they embarked on their ‘Shirley Valentine’ life changing trip, initially to Malta and then to Gozo where they discovered the property on St Anthony St in Ghajnsielem. This became their new home and later opened it’s doors to the public as Harbour Craft.
In the UK, both Gina and Kathy were practical, having interests in crafts and utilising natural materials. Indeed, when they did grab some spare time from their busy lives, Kathy would often be seen in her workshop and Gina regularly made jewellery for sale to support a charity close to her heart.
In June 2017 Harbour Craft was open for business, with Kathy specialising in the manufacture of products from driftwood and reclaimed materials, including light fittings, mirrors and one of her favourite products, passive speakers. Gina enjoys continuing to make jewellery which is supported by her range of accessorises and scarves and spends much of her time sourcing and up-cycling furniture and utilising paint effects to create exciting items for sale.
Their skills compliment each other and this has enabled Harbour Craft to have a unique and varied mixture of stock, made sustainably and with love…
